What Photo Style Do You Resonate With?
If you’ve asked “What photography style do I like?” or “What photography style do I have?”, you’re not alone. There are so many different photography styles, it can be hard to know which one is best for you. Whether you’re planning a wedding, a brand shoot, or just obsessed with aesthetics, your photo style shapes the mood of your story. Here’s a breakdown of three core styles:
Photo Style Breakdown:
Why it Matters?
Knowing your photo style can help you:
Curate your wedding or brand aesthetic
Choose the right photographer, designer, or vibe for your day
Understand your visual identity
Stop saving inso that doesn’t fit you
We primarily photograph and edit in either an ethereal style or a moody style or a mix of the two. Other styles out there include light and airy and film emulation.
Light and airy photos have a crisp and elegant feel to them with bright whites and clean colors. Greens usually lean mint, whereas moody greens lean forest green. When you think light and airy, think bright whites, white venues, lots of colorful florals, bright green grass, and a very elegant and soft but happy vibe.
Film emulation is another favorite of mine. Full of grain, cinematic tones, and flattering for skin. With so many film variations, you can incorporate any photo style with film, although most wedding photographers who shoot film or emulate film are considered “editorial”.
